Default Report: Dashon Goldson not to be re-signed by 49ers

ESPN's Adam Schefter doesn't expect free agent FS Dashon Goldson to re-sign with the 49ers.

"Goldson's going to be gone," tweeted Schefter. The 49ers refused to franchise tag Goldson for the second straight year, and he is seeking $8 million annually. Keeping him is thought to be a priority for San Francisco, but he may be too rich for their tastes. The 49ers could use the No. 34 pick they got from the Chiefs to find Goldson's replacement in what appears to be a strong safety class.

It will obviously cost the Browns to overpay for his services, but he's a player I would really love for them to acquire.

Now this is a guy I'd like. He is young, and a pro bowl caliber guy. Pairing him with TJ Ward would be impressive.

Chill...............he's another Strong Safety and we already have one in Ward. Don't we need to be looking for a good cover type Free Saftey?

Donte Whitner started at strong safety, Goldson stated at free safety.

Would love to have Gholston, he's a ball hawking safety that doesn't mind putting licks on people, him and TJ back there could be violent for receivers.... Wooooo.................

I don't know if I see the Browns spending that much money on a FA, but I'm all in on this one and I have not given my blessing to signing any other FA's that have recently become available. lol

This signing could and very well would complete 3/4 of our starting secondary, only needing that elusive other CB opposite Haden and Milliner could be that guy? I hope the Browns make a very good offer and at least put themselves in the running, though I truly hope they get the deal done.

Don't know how much this factors in, but it can't hurt.

Our new "attack warden" - Ray Horton - got to see Goldson twice a year. Certainly enough to know exactly what the Browns would be getting, and the impact he'd have on a game.

    ASSUME THE POSITION - BEYOTCH!
