Commentary : It is a convoluded situation -

Orlando was Indian free agent interest a few years ago -- now it has become so -- based on his stats from 2010 and career, Indians can't do wrong here, as contract is for 1 year --$$$$ don't know at this juncture, was confirmed by MLB.com

Supposedly this will buy time until Chisenhall/Kipnis finally make the scene.

Cabrera plays infield except 1B -- but can if push came to shove according to MLB report.

Indians have to make a move in order to get Cabrera placed on 40 man roster.

Candidates IMO could be Duncan as I mentioned could be DFA'd - or traded posted yesterday by me.
Duncan -- Valbuena -- even Nix -- or a pitcher, maybe 2 if Indians sign Bonderman and Millwood -- doubt
that signing, but could happen -- possibly Smith -- all conjecture on my part -- but someone or 2 will be
sent adrift in the next few days.

OC still can hit and field his position -- steady right up to and including 2010 --

Is this a good signing ? -- Leaning to the point it is, buys time for at least 1 year - Orlando should be a steadying influence on Indians Infield -- so while not overly excited, this could be a Vizquel ( do-over) we will see, hopefully.

I'm surprised nothing has become noted as signed in Bonderman and Millwood -- I noticed any
mention of Millwood has become void on Indian Site -- they still post Indians and Bonderman are working on a contract -- no mention of Millwood anymore -- so that is a clue Millwood isn't going to be signed. -- as with Bonderman -- getting thru the verbage of contract dialogues -- and agreeing stands in the way.

    Scale from 1 to 10 -- on Orlando -- a solid 7

he doesnt have much time at 2b. learning the position could extend his career, so its in his best interest. good move on his part. he doesnt excite me, but after Valbuennas number last year, Ill take a look at O

MLB reported your valid concerns about OC at 2B -- He played around 32 to 42 games at 2B - well over 400+
at SS and I belive 139 at 3B --it went on to say -- OC has athletic ability to play just about any position, including 2B, if so will gives more options due to others injuries etc.

This might make Valbueana with a wake up call -- not giving up on Valbuena -- when Vizquel first started,
he really didn't click until he came to Indians -- hopefuly Valbuena gets past sophmore jinks scenario.
